Yes, footnote and bibliographic citations are formatted differently.

  • A bibliography citation in Chicago (Turabian) looks like this:
    • Last name, First name. Title of Book. Place of publication: Publisher, Year of publication.
  • A footnote citation for books looks like this:
    • 1. First name Last name, Title of Book (Place of publication: Publisher, Year of publication), page number.
