Pearson Library provides resources specifically for languages that CLU offers as an academic major or minor: Chinese, French, German and Spanish.  CLU students, faculty and staff can access these resources by clicking on the specific language guide available on the Research Guides resource page.

Pearson Library subscribes to two great interactive language databases (you must authenticate with your CLU username and password to access these resources):

  • Rosetta Stone - Rosetta Stone offers a language-learning solution to help students, faculty, and staff gain the confidence to engage in a new language. The interactive immersion approach helps build language skills and delivers immediate feedback to guide pronunciation based on an innovative speech-recognition technology. First-time users will need to create a username and password in order to access Rosetta Stone courses.
  • Powerspeak Languages - GALE | Usage Help - The Powerspeak Languages online learning program provides a rich language learning experience that uses audio, video, and interactive lessons to take users beyond rote memorization to a deep understanding of how to communicate with confidence in a new language (Spanish, French, German, Italian, Mandarin and Ingles - ESL)
